Projects/ Creations:

Dance Reception Area/ Window

The Dance reception area is located on the third floor in Sullivant Hall on the Ohio State University's campus. As I was trying to think of locations around Sullivant to highlight, I kept thinking of the dance studios and how to portray movement in other spaces. The most common theme in dance studios are mirrors. As I walked past the dance reception area, I noticed the resemblance

between mirrors and windows. I thought that it would be interesting to portray the window as a mirror in this project. The concept came easily, and the dance concept was improvisation. The most difficult part was trying to film both bodies in the door frame window. The dancers had a good amount of space to dance, but it was hard to capture both of their movement. I wasn't sure what I wanted for music until I started to play around with options, and found old time music. Once I found the music I wanted, it made it easier to make edits. Working with my group was a pleasure. We all knew that we had a short time to finish our project, so we all made our filming plans and worked together to come up with ideas for each location, so we didn't spend too much time coming up with film angle ideas and concepts. Once we knew what we wanted to do, we stared filming right away, and soon we had our footage and were able to edit shortly after. Communication and collaboration are key to a successful project.
