Papers, Finals, and Stress... Ohh My!

As the semester is coming to a rapid close, things start to get a little overwhelming. You might have several 8 paged research essays to finish, and you have to study for those dreaded finals. Everything seems to be piling up and you can't catch a break...

Don't stress! Spend a little extra time in the library and get those papers finished. The grand study room in the Thompson Library is a great (and quiet) place to work on your papers. Also ask your friends if they would like to go and study with you because chances are that they are just as stressed about papers and or finals as you are.

Another tip is to try not to stress eat. Yes those Insomnia Cookies are calling your name... we've all been there, but in the long run it will be healthier and more beneficial for your body and brain. Almonds are a great snack to bring with you when you want to study. Almonds contain lean protein that is found to give one a boost of energy as well as repairing brain cells, improving cognitive functions and memory.

One final tip is to be kind to yourself. If you've made it this far then you can finish off the semester. Stressing about how many pages you have left to write and how much material you have to go over takes time away from the initial task anyway, and it will put you in a bad mood. Also if you have problems never hesitate to ask your professors for help, they will appreciate you asking them. Every morning when you wake up give yourself words of encouragement because you got this!
